Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger won the AL and NL Rookie of the year Awards unanimously and certainly no surprise there and if I predicted yesterday I would’ve gone with both. It would’ve been a no brainer decision.

The Managers of the Year will be announced tonight and I’m going with AJ Hinch and Dave Roberts.

I went 7-7 in the NFL picks this week and my overall record is 83-63.

Notes from state championship Saturday in high school football:

The performance by Hartford’s Tyler Hamilton in the Division 1 game was one of the most miraculous I’ve ever seen.He left the game with an apparent leg injury and came back to play again and came within an eyelash of leading the Hurricanes to an unbelievable come from behind victory. It was one of the guttiest performances I’ve ever seen in over 40 years of sports broadcasting.

One of the Touchdowns  by St. Johnsbury in that game was scored by tackle Jim Hayes. I thought at first it was a touchdown pass from quarterback Jake Cady to Hayes on a tackle eligible play. On further review it turned out to be a backwards lateral and was not a pass. Tackle eligible plays are illegal in high school football. I did not know that!
