Travis Roy, High School Football, Red Sox

By Jack Healey
I went to the final day of the Travis Roy Foundation Wiffle Ball Tournament at little Fenway, Little Wrigley and little Field Of Dreams in Essex yesterday and as always it was special. A record $721,500 was raised this year breaking the record set last year by $100,000. if you haven’t seen this location in person you have to sometime in the future. The pictures on the website don’t do it justice. You really have to see it in person.
it’s hard to believe that the pre-season workouts start today for high school football. Among the new coaches are Greg Lewis at Mill River, Jim Hill at Fair Haven and Tom McCoy at Burr and Burton. Burr and Burton won the Division 2 state championship last year and is moving up to Division 1 this year.
Somebody asked me the other day if I thought the Red Sox would make the playoffs and I said they can, but I don’t think they will. They just can’t seem to get it together. By the way as a fan I want to win the championship every year, but I’m still living in the glow of last year’s World Series title. I know it was last year, but I’m still enjoying it.Why not? New York Giant fans are still talking about 2008 and 20012 and the victories over the Patriots. Of course they forget that the Patriots have been to the Super Bowl four times since 2012, have won three including last year. The Giants haven’t even made the playoffs since 2012.
Back to baseball a lot of teams are excited about their seasons, but at the end of it all only one team will win the World Series and there will be 29 teams who will not!
