Celtics,Bruins And White House

By Jack Healey
I know predictions are just lucky guesses, but I did say the Bruins over Columbus in 6 and I said Milwaukee over the Celtics in 6.
The Celtics really did stink the joint out and they really couldn’t turn on the switch. Milwaukee was a far better team and remember they were the #1 seed in the East. The Celtics were the #4 seed. I wouldn’t be surprised if Milwaukee goes on and wins it all. Last year the Celtics made it to game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals and this year only game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semi’s. Last year the Celtics didn’t have Kyrie Irving or Gordon Hayward and this year they did. You do the math! Kyrie was terrible in the Milwaukee series and it could be his swan song with the Celtics, but I still would like to have him back.I don’t think the Celtics would be able to coax any potential free agents without him. Brad Stevens said he did a lousy job coaching this year and he was right! He put much of the blame on himself. Pretty classy!
I say the Bruins beat Carolina in 6. I’m not surprised that Charlie McAvoy got a game suspension, but I disagree.
I haven’t been the biggest Tukka Rask fan, but he sure has been great in the playoffs. Rask fans have to remember though that the job is only half done. Rask has to win the Stanley Cup to get the “monkey off his back”!It might not be fair, but that’s the way I feel. It has been pointed out to me a few times before that Henrik Lundqvist and Carey Price have never won the cup either. That’s true, but they pass the “eye test” for me.
if Jackie Bradley, Jr. is only going to hit .147, he has to make plays like last night.JBJ with a spectacular game saving catch robbing Trey Mancini of a home-run in last night’s game in Baltimore.
I have said many times before that I would visit the White House if I won a championship. I look at it as part of the experience and it has nothing to do with politics. That being said if you don’t want to go that’s fine with me. Same thing if you want to go that’s fine with me too.
I just shake my head when I read columns that point out the race of who is going and who isn’t going to the White House. I know the purpose of these so called sociology experts. You want to show how diversified you are by pointing out things like that. Why say anything? I saw one column that pointed out Boston’s racial problems in the past. Not only the city of Boston, but the Red Sox themselves. It was pointed out that the Red Sox had a chance to sign Jackie Robinson and didn’t. Yes Boston and the Red Sox have had their problems, but how does that have anything to do with who goes and who doesn’t go to the White House this year?
There is no question in my mind who the racists are. Some of you self righteous columnists should take a good look in the mirror!
