Jim Rome Again?

By Jack Healey

The other day I wrote about how I think Jim Rome stinks and I’m glad he didn’t get into the National Radio Hall of Fame.
Yesterday I saw a list of the top paying broadcast media sports personalities and guess who is #1?
You guessed it. It’s Jim Rome!
Rome makes 30 million dollars a year and has a net worth of 100 million dollars! You have got to be kidding me! What a country! I talk a lot about the eye test. In this case Jim Rome just doesn’t pass the ear test for me either.
How was Eduardo Nunez called out at first base in the game against the Angels on Wednesday night? It’s not like the review wasn’t conclusive.
I know he was only signed to a minor league deal, but for some reason I really love the Brandon Phillips signing.
I love the Steve Pearce trade too.
I don’t know why, but I hate Red Sox-Yankee games. It should be the other way around. I should love them.
Remember a couple of years ago when fans were saying that the Red Sox rivalry was with Tampa Bay and not with the Yankees. I thought it was BULL then and of course we know now it was just complete Bull!
I think major league baseball should go back to a balanced schedule. I get it, interleague play can’t be balanced, but the rest of the schedule can be.
Oregon State came back to win the College World Series after being down one game to none and one strike away from elimination.
I really have to feel sorry for Arkansas. One strike away from winning it all. They now know how the Red Sox and Angels felt in 1986 and the Texas Rangers felt in 2011.
