I went with the Dodgers in 6 and they won in 5. Hard to believe that the Dodgers haven’t been to the World Series since 1988.

Ron Gardenhire is the new manager of the Detroit Tigers. Glad he isn’t going to the Red Sox. I don’t want Brad Ausmus, I want Alex Cora! I hope Cora isn’t available for another couple of weeks though!

Final weekend of the regular season in high school football. I went 11-4 last week and I stand at 83-23 overall.

Friday October 20th

Rutland over Burlington

North Country over Otter Valley

Fair Haven over Mt. Abraham

BFA of St. Albans over Rice

Hartford over Essex

Mt. Mansfield over South Burlington

Bellows Falls over U32

Burr and Burton over Mt. Anthony

Colchester over Brattleboro

Saturday October 21st

Poultney/MSJ over Springfield

Middlebury over CVU

St. Johnsbury over Lyndon

Milton over Spaulding

BFA-Fairfax over Missisquoi

Windsor over Woodstock

If Rutland defeats Burlington tonight, the Raiders are in the playoffs in Division 1. Rutland can still make the playoffs with a loss if Colchester, Rice and South Burlington all lose.

St. Johnsbury and Lyndon meet for the 113th time on Saturday. I used to think the MSJ-Rutland rivalry was the greatest rivalry I’ve ever seen, but of course it doesn’t exist anymore in football. Hard to top the St. Johnsbury vs. Lyndon rivalry that started in 1894. The MSJ-Rutland rivalry didn’t start until 1930.
