NFL Divisional Round this weekend. I went 2-2 last week to bring my overall record to 163-97.
I’m going with:
Philadelphia over Atlanta
The NE Patriots over Tennessee
Pittsburgh over Jacksonville
New Orleans over Minnesota
Love those weekday afternoon NBA games. I actually watched most of the Celtics victory over Philadelphia in London yesterday. The Celtics are fun to watch! [I knew that anyway. I didn’t just find out yesterday]
Many people have already written this, but can you rub it in any more to the British by sending two of the cities that had a lot to do with the demise of King George? Boston and Philadelphia from the American Colonies. Take that England!
I have mentioned that the University of Central Florida [UCF] football team probably should’ve been given more credit for going undefeated and got some consideration for being in the playoff. We all know the deal, you have to be from one of the power conferences and UCF is not. A strong argument for UCF is that it beat a team that beat both teams in the national championship game. UCF beat Auburn in the Peach Bowl and of course Auburn beat both Alabama and Georgia.
On the other hand if you want to be included with the big boys, you have to play a tougher schedule. UCF beat Austin Peay 73-33.
It reminds me when Burlington which should’ve been in Division 1 in football at the time anyway dominated in Division 2 and Burlington fans were saying let’s play the division 1 champion and get a true state champion. If you want play or compete with the division 1 champion, then play in division 1. Sure it can happen in a given year, we see it in basketball once in awhile, but if you want to take on the big dogs, play the big dogs every week!
