After game two of the 91-90 loss to the Knicks I came to a startling conclusion:
Joe Mazzulla really is not a good basketball coach.
The 2024 Celtics were lucky to win it all(I didn’t want to believe this and argued it previously).
Jaylen Brown confirmed my previous thought that he can’t dribble very well.
Jaylen Brown is not a good decision maker on the court.
Jason Tatum wants to be known as a winner and one of the greatest but is aimlessly wandering around just jacking up three pointers all the time!
Joe Mazzulla – see number 1.
A lot of people are saying the Celtics still have a chance of winning this series. I’m not sure if they do if the philosophy to shoot off balance three’s are on the menu.
They have to fastbreak more and get to the rim when numbers are good on the break. 3 on 2. 4 on 1. Go to the damn basket with a vengeance! This walk it up halfcourt, stand around and hold the ball til two seconds are left on the shot clock, needs to go. And play Payton Pritchard about 10 minutes more a game. Trust me! And Jaylen Brown about 10 minutes less. They’ll end up saying Brown is hurt, and so is Tatum. Blah blah blah.
The team I like watching the most is the SGA led Oklahoma Thunder. They play 80s basketball. They run and shoot. They share the ball. They are the 2020’s Showtime, if you will. And SGA is the best player in basketball not named Nikola Jokic. By the way, you couldn’t pay me to think Luka Doncic is a franchise player. Nope, not happening, not gonna agree. Gotta stop smoking cigs Luka! Get in shape, then we’ll talk.
I’ve been warning you that we’re getting closer to the rollout of the EB and Johnny’s Ticket to the Game program and website launch. My hope is that it all comes to fruition within a week or two!
From the ‘Sports doesn’t really matter department’
I read this afternoon that a high school lacrosse player was critically injured in a game and later succumbed to his injuries. I’m already an emotional guy and this one gets me in the feels. The one thing that did bother me in the article was they pointed out that the GoFundMe account had raised “x” amount of dollars for the young man. All of that is great that people stepped up to the plate but it left me with a hollow feeling. Money can’t buy you love. It can’t buy you life. No amount of money will make his family feel good again. Thoughts and prayers to the young man – may he rest in peace, and may his family find peace on Earth.
Happy Mother’s Day to the moms out there!
