Boy’s Hoop: Seahorses Remain Unbeaten, Top Essex 55-44

Burlington — The Burlington High School Seahorses ran their record to 7-0 on the season on Tuesday night, topping the Essex Hornet 55-44 inside Buck Hard Gym.

Burlington jumped out early, riding six points from Asmin Mostarlic and three pointers from Kevin Garrison and Kaden Rosamilia to a 16-8 lead after the first eight minutes.

Essex, though, regrouped in the second quarter, and with sophomore Hunter Smith leading the way with seven points battled back to grab a one point lead. But BHS responded with a run of their own, taking a five point lead at 30-25 to the locker room

The Hornets would hang with the ‘Horses through the third, but never got closer than five, and BHS outscored the visitors 17-13 in the fourth quarter to ease on to the win.

Kujtim Hashani led Burlington with 11 points, Mostarlic added 10, and Rosamilia and Garrison chipped in nine each.

Eli DiGrande and Smith each scored nine and T.J. Reed added eight for the 2-5 Hornets.
