It was a great Castleton Invitational mens hockey tournament at the Spartan Arena over the weekend! Of the four games played one went to a shootout,one went to overtime and one went to double overtime.
Fredonia won the tournament, Nazareth finished 2nd, Castleton 3rd and Curry 4th.
Castleton defeated #15 Curry 3-2 in overtime on a goal by Finland’s Alex Maunula in the consolation game.
Speaking of Finland Eetu Selanne, the son of former NHL star Teemu Selanne of Finland is a player on the Curry team.
The US defeated Finland for the gold medal in mens hockey at the Olympics at Lake Placid in 1980 and the captain of that team was Mike Eruzione. Mike’s brother Vin Eruzione is the Athletic Director at Curry.
For those keeping count the AFC Least is 11-4 against the NFC East so far this season.
