NORTHFIELD — The Norwich University Women’s and Men’s Hockey Teams learned their dance partners Monday morning when the NCAA announced the pairings for their Division Three Hockey Tournaments.

The women will not have long to prepare as they will travel to Williams College on Wednesday night for a first Round matchup at Lansing Chapman Rink. Norwich (21-5-2) won its ninth New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Tournament title with a 6-0 victory over Castleton to secure an automatic bid for the third straight year into the 10-team NCAA tournament. The Cadets will be making their 10th NCAA Tournament appearance in just 12 years as a varsity program. Norwich is the reigning NCAA Division III national champion and will be looking to claim its third title overall.

In contrast to the women, the men will not play for almost two weeks.
They earned a first round bye and will host the winner of Trinity and Univ. of New England on Saturday, March 16 in a NCAA Division III Tournament Quarterfinal matchup at Kreitzberg Arena.

Norwich (21-4-3) won its 13th New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Tournament title with a 2-1 victory over Hobart to secure an automatic bid in the 12-team NCAA Tournament. The Cadets will be making their 18th NCAA Tournament appearance and will need three wins to try and secure their fifth NCAA Division III National Championship.

Trinity (19-3-5) will host Univ. of New England (20-6-2) on Saturday, March 9 in a NCAA First Round matchup, with the winner set to travel to Northfield the following week.
