High School Hockey: VPA Releases Seedings and Pairings For State Tournaments

MONTPELIER — The Vermont Principals Association has released seedings and Pairings for the 2019 State Hockey Tournament which will get underway with playdown round games this weekend.

In Division One Boys Essex is the top seed, followed by number two BFA-St.Albans, number three Stowe and number four Middlebury. Tournament action begins with Spaulding traveling to Rutland for a playdown game Friday evening.

In Division Two Boys Woodstock earned the top seed, followed by number two Missisquoi, number three Colchester and number four Mt. Mansfield. Actions begins Friday evening with a playdown in Manchester between Burr and Burton and Burlington and a late asternoon game in Waterbury where Harwood plays host to Milton. Four more playdowns follow on Saturday.

In Girls Division One the top seed is BFA-St.Albans. Essex is seeded second followed by number three Burlington/Colchester and number four Rice. With eight teams in the field there will be no playdowns.

In Girl’s Division Two the top seed is Burr and Burton, followed by number two North Country/Lyndon, number three U-32 and number four Harwood. In playdown round action on Saaturday Spaulding wwill travel to Missisquoi and Hartford visits Woodstock.
