So the four matchups are set … It will be Seattle at Atlanta and Green Bay at Dallas in the NFC … Houston at New England and Pittsburgh at Kansas City in the AFC when the NFL Playoffs resume next weekend.
No surprises in any of the four wildcard games this weekend … So what did we learn over the past two days?
… Houston isn’t great on offense but with Brock Osweiler they are better than the Raiders are without Derek Carr … also their defense can be very good …
… Seattle is a sleeper in the NFC … this is potentially a very dangerous football team …
… Pittsburgh has weapons and if you let Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell get going they can and will beat you …
… There is nothing better than a hot team and when Aaron Rogers is quarterbacking that hot team you might just be in a peck of trouble …
UVM Hockey and Men’s basketball both put up very impressive wins over the weekend … but the UVM team you may not have noticed is the Catamount WOMEN’S hockey team. A sweep of Maine has Vermont in third place in Hockey East at 6-3-3 … the Vermont women are 10-7-5 overall. Any votes out there for Jim Plumer as Hockey East Coach of the Year?
And while no one is ready to bury them, both the Middlebury and Plattsburgh men’s hockey teams are really struggling … did you ever think that both Plattsburgh and Middlebury would lose to SUNY Canton in the same season?
