Are they back?
Were they ever gone?
The first semester is almost over and the Norwich University men’s hockey team is sitting on top of the NEHC. The Cadets swept conference rivals UMass-Boston and Babson over the weekend to go to 7-1 in the conference and 9-1-1 overall. Since blowing a late two goal lead at Skidmore on November 18th Mike McShane’s crew has won five games in a row … allowing a total of four goals in the process. There have been three shutouts in that stretch, two by junior Braeden Ostepchuk and one yesterday from senior Ty Reichenbach in a 2-0 win over Babson.
Norwich has one more game in the first semester, hosting St. Michael’s on Friday night. They had best not look past the Purple Knights who knocked off Babson and tied UMass Boston over the weekend. But heading into that game Norwich fans should be feeling really good about a team that has exceeded expectations so far in 2016-17.
