The NFL is rigged, and Craig Breslow could sell clunkers to the every day man!

Random Thoughts, the NFL is rigged, and Craig Breslow could sell clunkers to the every day man!

Winter Sports are here baby!

As much as I now despise winter, the thing that is comforting is that winter sports has begun. Hoops and hockey. Hockey and hoops. Not much of a skier guy so sorry for the folks who like freezing their collective butts off. Walking in ski boots is akin to riding a bicycle with a square front tire. It just isn’t, or wouldn’t be, fun.

Before I delve into a few thoughts about hoops(my first broadcast is tonight with Brattleboro at SJA in boys hoops at 6:30PM), I have to say this about Dick Vitale. The man deserves to call a national championship game – and he should be on the call this year. Love him or hate him, he is an icon – a legend who has fought a couple of times through cancer, and has promoted the game of basketball at an unparalleled level. Not sure who holds the rights to the game, probably CBS, but the man is gonna pass from this Earth having never had the chance to be in that spotlight. That shouldn’t sit right with anyone in the hoops world.

Every team has some level of optimism as they enter their respective season, as well they should. As I look around the state it’s not hard to see some teams that are the favorites – I’ll leave that up to the pundits and prognosticators for now. I know one thing, as NSN embarks on an aggressive schedule, both in Vermont and New Hampshire, it’s going to be crazy busy – but big time fun!

Is the NFL Rigged?

The NFL is a big business. Big business can come crashing down, however. If you follow it closely enough like I do you wonder how betting on the games has kept things on the up and up. After last week, I don’t wonder any longer. In the Raiders game Las Vegas decided to kick the field goal with 4 seconds left which would allow them to only lose 7 points. This in turn allowed Las Vegas(or Vegas haha) to cover the spread and had thousands of degenerates up in arms. Then you had the Cleveland Browns who decided to punt the ball from their opponents 29 yard line rather than kick a fg. In turn, the Browns fell to the Titans by 2 points, losing on the moneyline(look it up if you don’t know), and by not going for a touchdown and keeping the drive alive, they were unable to cover the spread of -3.5 which they were giving the Titans. A touchdown even without an extra point, or two-point conversion, would have given them a 5 point win. The whole thing is shady. And it’s about the thousandth example of shadiness throughout this past season. I’m betting there will be a big time investigation into the players and coaches this off season. Book it. I’m betting on it.

Used Cars for sale here – #craigbreslow

I don’t know about you but every year we get sold a bill of goods, in this case figuratively, by Craig Breslow and the Red Sox front office that they are going after big-time free agents. And every year, said big-time free agents end up signing with AL East rivals. I think I can safely say that Red Sox Nation is fed up with being misled. Shame on us for falling for it more than once. But that’s what we do as Red Sox fans – we take the bait EVERY SINGLE YEAR! At this point I think most of us would buy a 1979 AMC Pacer(the old fish bowl looking car) from Mr. Breslow without batting an eye. Alonso to the O’s, Schwarber stays with the Phils. We’re going after Ketel Marte – wait, what??? I can also speak for Red Sox nation in saying we’re done with John Henry. D-U-N! Time to move on buddy.
And for you Mr. Breslow – MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN! Not tomorrow, not after breakfast, NOW! – to quote Warden Norton.

Have a great Xmas everybody!
