Vermont Sports Hall Of Fame Class of 2019

There are 13 new members to the Vermont Sports Hall Of Fame. This is the 7th class of the Hall and again I have to say that the voters were right on. This is a diversified group.
There is a field hockey player, a moguls skier, an alpine skier, a nordic skier and a snowboarder as well as a stock car driver, a hockey coach, 2 basketball players one of which was also a coach and an inductee who was a college football player and a track star in high school as well as football, a softball player and a golfer. There is also a legendary journalist and broadcaster.
I’m especially pleased to see Jenny Everett of Rutland and Wake Forest being inducted.
She was an All American field hockey player at Wake Forest and was the first Wake Forest field hockey player inducted into their Hall of Fame, class of 2014. I was at the ceremony at Rutland high when she signed her letter of intent. I also had the pleasure to broadcast her Rutland High hockey games as well. By the way that was her hockey games playing on the Rutland High boys team.
Jenny currently lives in Fairfax, Virginia. I had an opportunity to watch her Wake Forest induction speech on line and it was very impressive. How to go Jenny!
