The National Radio Hall of Fame

By Jack Healey

You may or may not be aware that the 2018 class of the National Radio Hall of Fame was announced recently.
Among the inductees are:
Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg from the former Mike and Mike Show on ESPN.
Mike Francesa the longtime host who is back on WFAN in New York.
Nanci Donnellan, “The Fabulous Sports Babe”, a pioneering voice in local and national sports.
These are all sports personalities, but there were many other personalities who were inducted but were not connected to sports.
I don’t judge shows whether I agree with the hosts or not as I suspect most of the public does. Same as to whether I like the host or not. For example I can’t stand Keith Olberman, I think he is a complete horses ass, but he is good at what he does.
There is one show that is on CBS radio that despite campaigning to get into the Hall of Fame didn’t make it this year. That’s the Jim Rome Show. The show stinks! It’s a show that appeals to two year olds because the host acts like a 2 year old every single day. It’s like “finger nails on a chalkboard.” It’s like twitter and facebook on the radio. Twitter and facebook are 98% garbage, the Jim Rome Show is 100% garbage.
Speaking of Halls of Fame, the NHL announced its 2018 Hall of Fame inductees yesterday and former UVM star Martin St. Louis is in. Nobody deserves it more!
