Super Bowl And Yes Baseball!

By Jack Healey
My record going into the Super Bowl is 160-90 and I’m going with the Patriots over the LA Rams 31-24.
There was a time when I couldn’t get enough of the pre-game hype, but now I really stay away from it as much as I can. After awhile it just over-analysis as far as I’m concerned.
The television producer in Pittsburgh who put the graphic under a picture of Tom Brady that said “known cheater” has been fired. I don’t think the producer should’ve been fired, but it was very unprofessional. You can expect that mindless crap from people on facebook and twitter, but a TV producer? Joke or not he should’ve been above that. Again I don’t think the producer should’ve been fired though.
The Red Sox recently signed Jenry Mejia who was popped more than once for PED’s and even got a lifetime ban which obviously isn’t really a lifetime ban I guess.
From a baseball point of view I think it’s a win-win for the Red Sox. Mejia hasn’t pitched in awhile in the majors, but when he did he was pretty good. Of course that could’ve been the PED’s!
Mejia only signed a minor league contract.
Castleton University has hired John Stewart as its new pitching coach. Stewart was a former pitching star at nearby Granville, New York High School who went on to Georgia Tech and was drafted by the Atlanta Braves. He is a former scout for both the Braves and the San Diego Padres. He also once had a hole-in-one at the Bomoseen Golf Club. I know because I was there. He is a great choice!
