Good News: The Red Sox take 2 out of 3 from the Mets and their magic # is now 2.
Bad news: The Patriots lost to Jacksonville and they really stunk the joint out! It was really about the defense because it’s always about the defense. The offense wasn’t that great either and I thought the play calling was terrible.
Where are you Dez Bryant or Josh Gordon?
The Boston Globe Sports Section is the best especially on Sundays. It’s always good, but yesterday’s sports page I thought was exceptional. There were interesting newsy columns and that was in addition to the always great baseball, football, basketball and hockey columns.
I went 11-4 in the high school football picks in week #3 and my overall record is now 31-15.
There are no undefeated teams now in Division 1. Division 2 now looks like a two horse race with Fair Haven and Burr and Burton. Burr and Burton will be at Fair Haven this Friday night. In Division 3 Woodstock, Poultney and Mill River are all at 3-0. Mill River will host Poultney this Saturday afternoon.
You have to hand it to BFA of St. Albans as the Bob Whites came from behind to beat Rutland 29-28 last Friday. BFA got the tying and winning points with 16 seconds left in the game. The play of the year to this point had to be the Raiders’ Dakota Peters’ sensational 42 yard touchdown run. He looked like he was stopped several times before scoring. It was the best play I’ve seen in several years.
West Rutland defeated Proctor 3-2 last Friday as Eric Maxham had a hat trick as he became the first boys player in West Rutland history to score 100 career goals.
