I don’t really believe in moral victories unless it’s in high school, but if there ever was one it was UVM’s close loss to Virginia on Tuesday night.
I don’t know of one UVM fan who wasn’t happy about the game even though the Catamounts lost.
It’s early in the season, but fans are already looking to the NCAA tournament. That’s nice, but remember in the America East you have to win the post season tournament to get a bid to the NCAA’s. There are no “At Large Bids”. There is only one bid so wins or close losses over major opponents don’t matter. You have to win the tournament!
Let’s see Dartmouth beats Princeton by a score of 27-10 in college football at Yankee Stadium to remain undefeated, so Dartmouth rides the momentum to victory over lowly Cornell the following Saturday at home. Wait a minute! Not so fast!Lowly Cornell beats Dartmouth 20-17 so of course there was no momentum from the previous game…. Again! Why fans, coaches, managers and media buy this complete hoax is beyond me.
Yale clobbered Princeton 51-14, so maybe the Bulldogs can ride the momentum to a victory over Harvard this Saturday.
I think Yale beats Harvard, but it won’t be because of momentum. I repeat the result of the game will have nothing to do with the game before. NOTHING!
Major League baseball is talking about putting another team in Florida. This time in Orlando. Great idea since Major League Baseball has been so successful in Tampa Bay and Miami. They have got to be kidding!
