Yogi Berra said “It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over”! Well it’s over finally today! I hope! The election that is. You know the one that has been dragging on for seems like years.

Just one final thing, Trump said that Brady voted for him and Bill Belichick sent him a letter. You know something? I don’t care one way or another. I don’t care who you voted for or who voted for whom. Some people apparently do and that is really sad. It really is.

I went 10-3 in the NFL week #9 and my total now stands at 79-52.

The final nominees are out for the various awards in baseball. They are the three top vote getters if you want to put it that way. Here are my predictions based on the nominees. I will say all my predictions on the NSN Sports Show are in the top three except for AL Manager of the Year. I went with John Farrell and he didn’t get in the top three so I change my vote to Terry Francona who was in the final three with Jeff Bannister and Buck Showalter. The NL top vote getters are: Joe Maddon, Dave Roberts and Dusty Baker. I went with Dave Roberts.

AL Cy Young: Corey Kluber, Rick Porcello and Justin Verlander. I went with Porcello.I’m more sure he does win it now because Zack Britton wasn’t in the top three which I thought would be his toughest competition. NL Cy Young: Jon Lester, Kyle Hendricks and Max Scherzer. I went with Scherzer. AL Rookie of the Year: Gary Sanchez, Tyler Naquin and Michael Fulmer. I went with Sanchez. NL Rookie of the Year: Corey Seager, Kenta Maeda and Trea Turner. I went with Seager.

AL MVP: Mookie Betts, Jose Altuve and Mike Trout. I went with Betts. David Ortiz didn’t get in the top three which is somewhat surprising. I get it about the DH thing, but not in the top three? I also get it about the defense and it could be the deciding factor if Betts wins in my opinion, but let’s face it the award is an offense award. Also the MVP vs. Player of the Year factor. I have always felt there should be two awards MVP and Player of the Year. They are different to me even though the same guy could win both. I believe most of the time the MVP goes to the Player of the Year, but not always. For example Mo Vaughn in 1995 I thought was the MVP, but Albert Belle was the Player of the Year. I think Mike Trout is the Player of the Year this year, but not the MVP. NL MVP: Kris Bryant, Corey Seager and Daniel Murphy. I went with Bryant.  Interesting that Seager is in the final three. I went with him for Rookie of the Year, but didn’t think he would be in the MVP final three too.  If he gets MVP he would also get Rookie of the Year and would be the third player to get both in same year. Fred Lynn in 1975 and Ichiro in 2001.

All the candidates deserve the various awards and quite frankly I don’t have a problem with any of them winning.
