Derek And Larry Are In

By Jack Healey
Derek Jeter and Larry Walker are in the Hall of Fame and you can debate about Walker, but of course Jeter was a lock. I got to say I am disappointed that Jeter wasn’t unanimous.
I talk a lot about the nitwits on social media, but many in the media are nitwits too. There is one nitwit out there who didn’t vote for Jeter and when he or she is outed he or she will become the story at least for awhile and unfortunately will take away from the players who were elected. That should never be.
Jeter should’ve been unanimous, but I can think of at least 50 players off the top of my head who should’ve been unanimous too. Come on Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio and many others shouldn’t have been unanimous? They were short changed too.
The bottom line is that they are all in the Hall of Fame and ultimately that’s the only thing that counts.
Curt Schilling was 20 votes shy of election and he probably will get in next year.
If a sportswriter doesn’t think Schilling is a Hall of Famer that’s one thing, but if a sportswriter doesn’t vote for Schilling because of Schilling’s political points of view that is entirely different. That should never be and quite frankly it’s disgusting!
