They are human after all … but they are still winning games.
The UVM Men’s basketball team nearly p—ed away a 15 point second half lead, but they found away at the end, holding on for a 77-74 win over UMBC this afternoon in Baltimore. Vermont controlled the game most of the way, but then lost their concentration down the stretch … turnovers … missed free throws … and saw the lead cut to one on several occasions before a pair of free throws late from Trae Bell Haynes and another pair later from Anthony Lamb finally secured the win.
Hey, this Vermont team is good … we all know that. They are now 23-5. They have won 15 games in a row. But they are human … and wakeup calls are something all of us humans need every now and then. When you get it and still win … well that is a good thing.
