Norwich Got SCREWED! In fact the ENTIRE EASTERN REGION GOT SCREWED!!!

The pairings are out for the 2017 NCAA Division Three men’s hockey tournament and the Cadets, despite their number one ranking in the national polls and more importantly their spot at the top of the NCAA Eastern rankings did NOT land one of the four byes in the twelve team tournament.

Instead Norwich will host a first round game this Saturday night against Salem State at Kreitzberg Arena. A win in that game would earn NU another home game against the winner of the first rounder between Oswego and Hamilton who will meet up this weekend in Oswego. Oswego and Hamilton both lost in their conference championship games after winning regular season titles. Still two very tough teams … probably the two toughest left in the eastern field after the Cadets. So that basically means only one of the three argueably best teams in the east will make it to the Frozen Four in Utica!

At the same time Plattsburgh, Trinity, Endicott and Hobart will fight it out, needing to get two wins to earn the other eastern spot.

Meanwhile the four western teams. Wisconsin Stevens Point, Adrian, St. Norbert and Augsburg will need to win just one game to book a bid.

AWFUL! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!
