Boy’s Hoops: Creller/Yates Duel Highlights BFA’s 80-68 Win Over MVU

ST. ALBANS — The battle for Franklin County bragging rights became a battle for individual bragging rights on Monday night as the BFA Bobwhites topped the Missisquoi Thunderbirds 80-68 inside the BFA Gym.

BFA was led by Junior Taylor Yates who drilled eight three pointers while on his way to a 31 point night.

But Yates’ effort was one upped by Missisquoi Junior Eathan Creller who buried nine treys and went 14 of 19 from the foul line for a 41 point effort in the defeat.

After a 15-13 first quarter for BFA, the Bobwhites built their lead to ten at the half and then led by as many as 20 in the second half before settling for the twelve point win.

While Creller was the only T-Bird in double figures, Yates got plenty of help, as Logan Tobin added 20 points and Kameron Dunsmore chipped in twelve for St. Albans.

With the win BFA is now 10-8 on the season. MVU slips to 3-15.
