BFA- St. Albans scored in all four quarters including 14 fourth quarter points to pull away to a 30-13 victory over Rutland on Friday night.
Matt Wainscott did the damage for the Bobwhites early as he rushed in from 11 yards out in the first quarter and then from three yards out in the second quarter to give BFA a 13-0 point lead with 9:08 to play in the first half.
Rick Lantman scored from 21 yards out and after the extra point by Tyler Flinn, the Raiders had cut the deficit to 13-7.
BFA tacked on a Seth Gates 25-yard field goal with 24 tics left in the third to up their lead to 16-7 and then Ben Roberts added a 10-yard TD run with just over five minutes remaining in the contest. Gates’ PAT was good and it was 22-7 in favor of BFA.
Troy Davine rushed in from 7-yards out on a quarterback keeper to pull his Rutland squad to within 10 but Connor Roberts rumbled in from 52 yards out to seal the victory for the Bobwhites. Roberts rushed for 149 yards on the night on just 23 carries.
BFA improves to 4-1 while Rutland drops to 3-1 in league play and 3-2 overall.
