BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore Franz Bernstein (Unterthingau, Germany), of the men's Nordic ski team, and senior Kristen Olychuck (Kelowna, British Columbia) of the women's hockey team, are the UVM/Sheraton Hotel Student-Athletes of the Week honor for the week ending February 7.

Bernstein won the men's 10k classic and finished second in the 10k freestyle at Trapp Family Lodge at the Vermont Carnival.

The Catamounts finished in second place as a team with 882 points while Dartmouth was first with 890 points.

Vermont continues the EISA Circuit at the Dartmouth Carnival on Feb. 12 and 13 at the Dartmouth Skiway and Dartmouth Cross Country Center.

Olychuck recorded 44 saves during Vermont's two victories last week. On Wednesday, she made 22 saves in a 2-1 victory over No. 4 New Hampshire and followed up that performance with her second shutout of the season, stopping 22 shots, including two breakaway chances, in a 1-0 victory over Maine.

Olychuck is putting up career-best numbers during her senior campaign between the pipes for the Catamounts, with a .900 saves percentage and a 2.37 goals against average.

The Catamounts travel Durham, N.H. to finish out the season series with UNH on February 13 and 14. Both games begin at 2 p.m. on each day.
