If there's any other one loss team in the country that deserves to be in the National Championship it's Oregon. That was proven not only on Wednesday Night when Florida got flopped all over New Orleans, but last night as well, when Oregon put on an absolute clinic on Kansas State. As was the case with the 33-23 score in the Louisville/Florida game, the 35-17 score of last nights Oregon/Kansas State game made it seem a lot closer than it really was. Wait, 35-17 isn't that close to begin with right? Well that explains everything. Because it wasn't close. At ALL. Oregon was far more proficient both offensively AND defensively (to my surprise) last night by a long shot. They obviously came out on all cylinders right from the get go with that kick off return. Oregon has a knack for not playing any defense but they certainly were on their game last night. Following the game, the rumors of this being Chip Kelly's last game started swirling all over Duck Nation again. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE wants Chip to be back. NFL teams will obviously begin their attempts to land Kelly ASAP and Kelly has openly admitted that he will get this "wrapped up quickly." Whatever decision the New Hampshire native makes I will respect. He has deserved it with the coaching clinics he has put over the past four years in Oregon. Tremendous job. Best of luck, Chip!

In one of my previous blogs, I had asked if it was time to ask if the Clippers were finally for real and I said yes. Well this week it's time to ask that same question about another NBA team. The Knicks. I think so, guys. They just snapped the Spurs' 7 game winning streak last night and have been consistent all year long. I'd have to say they are. Of course, we can never really answer this question until a team like the Knicks or the Clippers have made runs in the playoffs, but as of right now, I'd say both of them are for real. But speaking of some New York Knicks, how about Amar'e Stoudemire saying he has never been taught defense before in his career, and that he's glad to have a coach that is finally teaching him. He's taking it as a challenge now to become a better defensive player. What a complete idiot. Go punch another fire extinguisher casing for crying out loud. You're a professional basketball player. If your coach is an offensive minded coach and spends little amounts of time on defense, like Mike D'Antoni did, you should still be smart enough to understand how to play defense. You really don't know how to rotate defensively? Or deny the passing lanes? Or force left or right? Or hedge on a screen? Or play help defense? My god. This is just another classic example of an NBA player making excuses for himself instead of sitting up and saying, "You know what, I was just lazy, and didn't try to play defense." Get out of here. I've had enough of this guy anyways. The Knicks are better without him to be honest. They should trade him to the Bobcats or something. I'm tired of him.

How about Colorado Men's Basketball Coach Tad Boyle and his rant about instant replay following a loss against Arizona where a potential game winning three point shot was reversed which would have won him the game. "Get rid of instant replay. In basketball, football, human error is part of our game. If human error is a part of our game, let the officials call the game. Players, coaches, and officials will all make mistakes. It's part of the game." "We will spend all of this money on replays and we still can't get it right. Get rid of it." I couldn't agree with him more about the spending a lot of money and not getting it right. In this case, the officials got it wrong. It was close. But you have to take the football replay mentality on this. If there isn't any conceivable evidence that the call should be overturned, it shouldn't be overturned. But with this one it was CLEAR that the ball had left the fingertips on the shot before the zeros. I don't get it. I do want instant replay in all sports (and I'm glad we have it here at NSN!! We have actually found out a few wrong and right calls with it while doing games before) because I want the call to be right. But, my god, if you're going to use it, make sure you make the right call. Of course, he contradicted himself here a little because he did say that everyone makes mistakes in this game, players, coaches, and officials. Well guess what, the officials made a mistake by reversing the call haha. I don't know. Bottom line, instant replay should be in the game, but get the call right. Colorado should have won that game. Of course what he should be concerned more about is the fact that his team blew a huge lead in the first half and late in the second half and not this.

Friday's Forecasts For The Weekend In Sports:

1. Cincinnati, Baltimore, Green Bay, and Seattle all win. 3-1 or better wins, 2-2 or worse loses.
2. Oklahoma will beat Texas A&M tonight in the Cotton Bowl. I'm going to say they will win by more than 7 points too.
3. Big upset weekend in College hoops. More than four top 25 teams will get beat this weekend, and in any games where two Top 25 teams are playing each other, the lower seed will win (Illinois vs. Ohio State, Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State). Duke will also not get beat.
4. Minnesota will cover 7.5 against Green Bay. Adrian Peterson will also rush for more than 100 yards.
5. The Lakers will beat the Clippers tonight. Yes I know the Clippers are for real and just said that. But I actually think the Clippers are going to win so that's why I'm picking the Lakers. I've said in this blog in the past that I always guess the NBA wrong because I believe it is a Vegas owned league. So there you go. I think the Clippers are going to win so the Lakers will win.

Have a great weekend everyone. Don't forget to tune into all of the college and high school action all weekend here on NSN! I'll be at LSC for the Men's and Women's showdowns between the University of Maine at Farmington at Stannard Gymnasium. Excited for that. Have a great weekend!
