Remember to thank a President today ...

It is a rare day when you see anything complimentary written in this space about the Montreal Canadiens, but this morning is going to be the exception ... Before last evening's game against the Devils at the Bell Centre the Habs put on a five minute tribute to the late Gary Carter ... I got a look at it on line late last night, and it was moving ... a light show featuring Gary Carter baseball cards appearing on the ice ... video highlights on the jumbotron ... and Youpi ... the adopted former Expos mascot ... back in his Expos uniform. It was all very well done ... too bad the NBC Sports Network ... which did the game ... elected to not show the tribute.

Celtics and Bruins both were losers yesterday ... sad to say that news isn't really news these days ...

And sure signs of spring ... Carl Edwards won the pole yesterday for next Sunday's Daytona 500 ... and pitchers and catchers are reporting in in Florida and Arizona.

Coming up today on NSNsports.net it will be a doubleheader of Essex High sports ... this afternoon at 2:00 pm we'll have a videocast of the Rutland at Essex boy's hockey game ... then tonight at 7:00 pm it will be an audiocast of boy's basketball as the Hornets play host to CVU.
