Today is not Ground Hog Day, it just feels like it. Still trying to knock down this incessant cold that now has invaded the rest of my family's immune system. Ugh. Further, I want it to be March-thus, March Madness at the high school and collegiate level!

The Celtics did what they do under Doc Rivers last night-suck in the 4th quarter, and especially when they have big leads. Just something about it, since he has been coaching, it has happened time and again. I'll be glad when his regime comes to an end.

So proud of my nephew Ben Sackett who had an incredible game last night. Ben scored 23 second half points to lead the Lyndon State Hornets to a come from behind victory over archrival Johnson State at LSC's Stannard Gymnasium. He was on fire. It's amazing what can happen when you actually get someone who is obviously the best shooter on the court, conference, and perhaps the state, shots! I've been around a long time(sad to say) and I've seen a lot of great shooters. No one other than Tony Orciari comes to mind when thinking of long range shooters with Ben's shooting ability. We are not talking shooting from just behind the line either folks. We're talking 10 to 15 feet behind the arc!

It was good to see the entire Danville boys basketball team, with Head Coach Scott Rainville, in attendance. They were there to cheer on Danville alum Patrick Rainville who played great defense when in the game(Sackett didn't score a point with Rainville guarding him-just saying). In the end it was good to see two local boys on the court-and of course, to watch Thetford's Jason Gray as well.
