Valentine looks to right ship

First-year head coach Dean Valentine will look to right the ship in Danville with a girls basketball team that finished last year at 5-15.

“We have the ability to out-rebound and run with most teams,” coach Valentine said. With the super athletic Jamie Cyr handling the ball and Emily Leclerc, Erika Pastula and Pam Greaves in the post it is easy to see why coach Valentine would think that. Greaves has great inside game and is real strong in the post and Pastula can rip down rebounds as well as anyone in Division IV.

The Indians will also look for Kaylynn Zangla and Kassie Thresher to control the ball and tempo. Look for Zangla to also be a major shooting threat as she is someone who can really light it up.

Coming off a 5-15 season coach Valentine is hoping to bring the team back to at least a .500 record and they will get things started tomorrow when they take on rival Blue Mountain.
