The Danville Indians boys basketball team closed out an impressive week with another victory, this time a 76-49 win over visiting Stowe.
Danville's defense held the visitors to just eight first-quarter points to take a seven point lead after the opening quarter and it was all DHS from there. The Indians scored 43 points over the middle two frames to increase their lead and cruise to the win.
Eleven players reached the scoring column for the Indians with Brett Elliott leading the way with 14. Kyle Johnson added 13 and Scott Remick and Tony Burrington each tossed in a dozen. Remick also dished out a dozen assists for the double-double. As a team the Indians had 21 assists.
"We finished off a long week with a nice team win," DHS coach Scott Rainville said. "It was a nice job by Brett Elliott and Andy Towle on the boards."
Stowe's Petey Walsh had 12 points, all coming from behind the arc, and teammate Theo Bland added 11.
Danville improves to 13-3 with the win. They return to action on Wednesday at Peoples.
