Johnson's huge second half lifts DHS to win over LR

Kyle Johnson poured in 18 second-half points on his way to a game-high 24 points as the Danville Indians knocked off Lake Region, 63-57.

Johnson took advantage from the charity stripe as he knocked down 8-of-10 freebies and Danville as a team cashed in 17 times from the line.

The Indians trailed by one at the intermission but used a huge 18-point third quarter to take the lead by five entering the fourth where they used the free throw line (9-for-12) to secure the victory.

Scott Remick tossed in 17 in the winning effort for Danville and Tony Burrington added a dozen.

"Kyle hit some key free throws at the end, Scott Remick had an outstanding game with 17 points and nine assists and Tony had a good all around game," DHS coach Scott Rainville said. Rainville also praised Eric Remick who saw his only minutes in the fourth and knocked down a crucial bucket.

James Margolla had a team-high 16 points for Lake Region in the loss while Caleb Royer and Seth Lawson each added nine.

The win lifts Danville to 11-3 while the Rangers drop to 5-9.
