Tony Burrington followed up his 23 points performance earlier this week with an 18 point outburst against Div. III power Winooski and his efforts helped the Danville Indians take a 47-42 victory.
Like earlier in the week, the Indians used a strong second half effort to take the victory. DHS was able to outscore the Spartans 12-7 in the third and 14-11 in the fourth to take the lead and earn the win. Turnovers were the issue for the Indians, who turned it over 18 times to allow Winooski to stay in the contest.
"Any win is a good win," DHS Scott Rainville said. "Tony led us in scoring again and Jacob Mills had another strong game inside." Mills finished with 12 points.
Devon Rollins, fresh off the game in which he tallied his 1,000th point, had a game-high 19 points.
Rainville also commended the efforts of Jon Kimball and Kyle Johnson on the defensive end.
The win improves Danville to 10-3 while Winooski falls to 8-5. DHS returns to action on Monday in a makeup contest at Lake Region. Tipoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
