Every player found the score sheet for the Lyndon Institute Girl’s
Basketball team, as they defeated Division 3 foe Randolph by 19 points
at Alumni Gymnasium tonight.

The Vikings led 20- 9 after the first quarter and never looked back as
Senior Guard Hannah Cornell dropped 14 points (including 6 straight
points in the second quarter) to lead the team.

Lyndon outrebounded Randolph 46-32 and stretched their win streak
to 4 games. Over those 4 games the Vikings have averaged a 15 point
win margin. Lyndon also shot an impressive 71% (15 for 21) from the
free throw line as Randolph shot 50% (5 for 10) from the charity stripe.

Shannon Wallman-Hatch had a game high 15 points for the now 6-
6 Galloping Ghosts. Darien Smith scored 10 points and Kayla Jardine
chipped in 8 points for the Vikings, who next hosts Hazen on Monday, February 6th.

LI Coach Eric Berry was very happy with the Viking offense in the first half as Lyndon shot 47% from the field. "We've been working a lot on shooting the basketball, and taking good, open shots," commented Berry.

They also were very intense on both ends of the court according to the 1st year mentor. "Denielle Riendeau and Darien Smith got us going on the offensive boards.  And Hannah got good dribble penetration against the zone defense.  We were able to play hard on both ends of the floor which usually translates to good things.  We also got a lot of contributions with everyone scoring."

Lyndon faces a gigantic week next week, as they look to advance in the division 2 standings, with 2 home games and one on the road against Montpelier.
