Sackett reaches 1,000-point milestone

Lyndon State College's Ben Sackett needed 14 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone for his career. The Hornets were also seeking their first win of the season. Both happened Saturday when the Hornets hosted Maine Maritime.

Sackett's 1,000^th point came when he drilled a three-pointer late in the contest, helping LSC to their first win of the year, 81-56.

Jason Gray had 28 points to lead the Hornets to victory.

After the contest Sackett's daughter, Layla, stormed the court with a sign that said “My daddy scored 1,000 points.”

“It was magical,” Sackett said.
