Jaques propels Castleton over Lyndon

Christine Jaques poured in 23 points and handed out six assists to lead Castleton to a 75-37 win over Lyndon Tuesday in North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action at Stannard Gymnasium.

Vanessa Powers and Alyssa Leonard added 14 points each for the Spartans and Tarryn Bolognani had 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Kelly Conway had six assists for Castleton, who improved to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in the NAC.

Donna Lawson had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Hornets and Danielle LaFont had 11 points and three assists. The loss drops Lyndon to 4-7 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

The Lyndon men’s and women’s basketball teams return to Stannard gymnasium Friday when they play host to Husson University. The men’s contest will get underway at 5:30 pm. followed by the women’s games at approximately 7:30 p.m.
