McDonald’s 11 points topped the Cadets (1-7, 0-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference) during a 64-41 loss to visiting Emmanuel College. NU played the Saints (4-4, 3-0 GNAC) on even terms throughout the opening stages of the first half before a 15-4 roll helped give the visitors a 25-12 lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Junior forward Ian Marquis (Stratton, Vt.) just missed double figures tallying eight points. Junior forward Brandon Kuhre (Lebanon, N.H.) came off the bench for seven points. Senior forward Leland Brunswick (San Francisco, Calif.) pulled down 10 rebounds.
Norwich breaks from competition due to the coming winter break until Saturday, Jan. 7. They continue their 2011-12 Great Northeast Athletic Conference slate that afternoon when Mount Ida visits Andrews Gymnasium for a league twinbill.
NOTES – EC’s Theo Robinson was among the stars for the Saints. He produced a double-double of 10 points and 19 rebounds. His rebound total tied an Emmanuel school single-game record.
