Here we go again maybe:
This is what Tim Thomas posted on his facebook page:
His words were I Stand with the Catholics in the fight for religious Freedom.
Then he quoted Martin Niemoller, a prominent German anti-nazi theologian and Lutheran pastor, best known as the author of the poem First they came....
"In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because i wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant Then they came for me, and by then no one was left to speak up."
This is my take on this one. I don't care what Tim Thomas was thinking and why he posted it, but I say thank you for doing it because this is a great piece of writing and I thank him for calling my attention to it.
It sure beats the mindless trash talking drivel written by Joe and Jane Nobody I read on Facebook everyday.
