Hurricanes Advance to State Title Game, Blow Past Rebels 54-7

Bell's Three TD's Lead 'Canes to 10th Win

White River Jct. --- The top seeded Hartford Hurricanes scored 21 unanswered second quarter points, breaking a 7-7 tie, and rolled on to a 54-7 win over the South Burlington Rebels in VPA Division One Semi-Final action on Friday night.

Senior running back Troy Bell scored on touchdown runs of 39, 18 and seven yards, and teammate Josh Claflin added 20 and 42 yard runs for the Hurricanes. Quarterback Tucker Stone threw TD passes of 17 and 23 yards to wideout Travis Wilson and Brandon Tetrault added a 30 yard TD run for the unbeaten 'Canes.

Sophomore QB Hunter Riehle hooked up with senior Evan Nolting on a six yard TD pass late in the first quarter for the only South Burlington score.

Hartford is 10-0. They will meet Middlebury next Saturday in Castleton for the Division One State Championship. South Burlington ends their season at 7-3.
