VPA Announces Seeds for Hockey, Girl's Basketball Tournaments

The Vermont Principals Association has announced the seeds for their state tournaments in boy's and girl's hockey and girl's basketball. The second season will tip off on Tuesday night with ten girl's hoop playdown games.

In Division One basketball South Burlington (17-3) is the top seed, followed by number two Burr and Burton (17-3), number three Rice (15-5) and number four Essex (14-6).

In Division Two hoop the Lamoille Lancers (18-1) landed the top seed, followed by number two Lyndon Institute (14-6), number three Mt. Abe (13-7), and number four U-32 (9-11).

On the D-3 hardwood the Windsor girls (17-3) got the top seed, followed by number two Lake Region (19-1), number three Oxbow (16-3) and number four Enosburg (18-2).

The top seed in D-4 is Twinfield (19-1), folloowed by number two Rivendell, NH. (18-2), number three Arlington (16-4). and number four Poultney (14-5).

 

On the ice the top seed in the boy's Metro Division One is Essex (17-1-2). CVU (15-4-1) is the number two seed, followed by number three BFA-St. Albans (14-5-1) and number four Harwood Union (15-5). The top four teams are seeded directly into this weekend's quarterfinals while the other eight clubs will square off in four playdown games on Wednesday night.

IN the boy's Lake Divivison Two tournament Stowe (16-3) is the top seede, followed by number two People's Academy (15-5), number three Middlebury (12-4-3), and number four U-32 (13-6).

On girl's ice the top seed in the Metro-Division One tournament is Spaulding (15-1-4). The Crimson Tide are followed by number two Hartford (13-4-3), number three BFA-St. Albans (12-6-1), and number four Missisquoi (12-7-1)

The top seeds in girl's Lake Division Two are number one Harwood Union (17-2-1), number two U-32 (15-3-10, number three Stowe (13-5-2) and number four Northfield (13-6-1)

 

The fields for the boy's basketball tournaments will be announced next week.
