Burlington --- The Champlain Valley Union High School Redhawks scored six goals in the third quarter, Rallying from a 4-2 halftime defecit to beat the Burliington High Seahorses 10-6 in their regular season boy's lacrosse finale on Saturday at Buck Hard Field.
Chris Bulla's goal one miinute and five seconds into the second half started the comeback for CVU. Five and a half minutes later Robbie Dobrowski tied the game off a feed from Nathaniel Wells and Nick Spencer put the Redhawks on top to stay with a goal a minute and a half after that. Lawrence Dees' man down score a minute later gave the Redhawks a two goal edge, and after Burlington's Zach Drolette momentarily stopped the bleeding with a goal a minute later, Jake Marston (his second) and Gingras capped off the huge third quarter run, putting CVU up 8-5 after three.
Dee added his third goal of the day and Justin Beaudry notched the final score for the Redhawks in the final stanza.
Trailing 1-0 after one BHS took over the gme in the second, outscoring CVU 4-1 to carry a 4-2 lead into the break. Grady Breen and Alex Raub each scored a pair in the quarter for the 'Horses, but CVU took over from there.
With the win CVU finishes the regular season 15-1 and likely clinches the top seed in the Division One State Tournament.
