Rachael Bridges and the St. Johnsbury Academy softball team got their playoff run started in strong fashion as they handled visiting South Burlington, 21-0 in five innings.
Bridges tossed all five innings and didn't allow a hit while striking out eight in the victory.
All Bruckner smacked a double and a triple to pace the St. Johnsbury offense.
The No. 4-seed Hilltoppers advance to the quarterfinals where they will host No. 5 Mount Mansfield. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday.
