Great weekend in Rutland! Always fun when Rutland and MSJ get together in any sport even though football is no more and only one game a year in boys basketball with the teams in different divisions. Last Friday night a packed house at Rutland saw Rutland beat MSJ 61-43, but Rutland’s Kyle Cassarino became the 6th player in Rutland High history to reach 1000 career points. Of the six to do it at Rutland High, four of them including Cassarino, started their careers at MSJ!

On Saturday the Rutland High cheerleaders won the National championship at the ACDA Reach The Beach National Championship in Ocean City, Maryland. Rutland is also the three time Vermont Division 1 state champion and the defending New England champion. The cheerleaders arrived back in town late yesterday afternoon and was greeted by fans and a police and fire department escort!

Yes it was a fun time in Rutland this weekend!
