George Commo’s Blog – Saturday Evening 11/19/16

I have known Mike McShane for some thirty years and am into my 19th season calling his Norwich Cadets hockey games on radio and the internet. He is a class act from start to finish and one of the nicest coaches I have had the pleasure of working with in my career. He is also one of the best coaches the college game has ever seen.

Today he took another step in solidifying his spot among the game’s best. His Cadets topped Castleton 4-0 this afternoon … the 700th win his his storied career.  He is only the 7th coach in the history of the game to reach that milestone.

Mike … congratulations!

All right now to an entirely different matter. Can anyone out there explain to me why the UVM Basketball Catamounts are playing Lyndon State? Anybody? Please?

If you didn’t hear Vermont whipped up on Lyndon today 79-20 at Patrick Gym.

YES 79-20! It was 43-4 at the half! My Goodness! How can anything good come out of that game for anyone on either side?

UVM is a solid mid-major program and the pre-season favorite in America East. They’re going to win a lot of games this winter. But that one today is an embarrassment.
